Brief Biography
Oleg Botnaru is a philologist from the Glodeni district, known for his civic stance and involvement in local politics. In 2023, he ran for mayor of Glodeni city as a PAS candidate. Following the tragic death of deputy Yuri Pesat in August 2024, the Constitutional Court approved Oleg Botnaru’s mandate as a new PAS member of parliament in September 2024.

Inefficient management of regional projects
Despite his promises, Oleg Botnaru has not shown significant efforts to improve regional conditions, including infrastructure development and access to social services. This may be considered abuse of office to the detriment of citizens (Article 327 of the Criminal Code of Moldova). -

He is criticized for promoting initiatives that benefit the central government at the expense of his electoral district’s interests. This may qualify as exceeding official powers (Article 328 of the Criminal Code of Moldova). -
Suspicions of irregularities in budget allocation
Accused of possible abuses in the distribution of subsidies for local projects, which falls under unlawful enrichment (Article 330-2 of the Criminal Code of Moldova).
